Three myths I’d like to bust..

One of my resolutions this year was to make a list of all the typical workplace myths from various sources and then try to bust them. Now that we’re at the half-way point in the year, I figured it was fitting to do a review of how I did.  In this series of posts, I wanted to share with you the top three (or the most annoying) myths I had collected so far. Make no mistake.. you’ll probably hear these everywhere you go, and they WILL drag you down. They are myths that become obstacles and keep us from innovating.

Here they are:

  • Myth #1: If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
  • Myth #2: History repeats itself.
  • Myth #3: Great minds think alike.

I’d like to put out an interesting take on these fallacies and talk about why they should be dispeled so they don’t plague us into thinking we cannot do more with our lives. Think big! Think the impossible! That’s what sets a leader apart.

My list of interesting fallacies will continue to grow through the year, no doubt. But I’d like to get these three out of the way first.
